Volcanoes’ eruption on Mars caused surface moving - video
3.5 billion years ago, volcanoes' eruption on Mars disgorged an enormous mass of lava, according to research released on Monday 2. The lava layers were too dense and displaced the surface. The findings determine the Mars' north and south poles were displaced and explain the surprising placement of parched riverbeds and underground pools of ice, announced researcher Sylvain Bouley to the Guardian.
A research paper published in 2010 revealed that if one of the domes were extracted from Mars, the planet would change its axis. Bouley and associates paired few computer simulations and measurements to prove this. Many mysteries of Mars that starved for explanation made sense all of a sudden, declared Bouley. The current theory also illustrates why the Tharsis dome is located on the “new” equator that is not the right place to balance the planet's debris.
The Nature magazine published the findings that furthermore question the official chronology, which considers the rivers of Mars were settled after the Tharsis dome.
