The builders discovered antiquities in Gaza
The citizens stopped to take pictures of the antiquities the builders found on the construction site while digging the hole to start the foundation for the building. They found interesting objects that as they later found out could be dated from the 4th to the 7th centuries. These objects are related to the Byzantium culture, claim the spokesperson of the Gaza’s ministry of tourism and antiquities. The objects found include the marmoreal pillars that depict the images of Corinth. The pillars are of a great size.
As the Reuter inform, this site could have been used by the Christians as the worship place. One of the stones contains the image of Christ, which only proves the point. Moreover, the historians say that the territory of Gaza was a popular crossroad that was inhabited by diverse population.
